WKBX (FM) Market Profile

Kingsland/St. Marys/Kings Bay, Georgia is located in the southeastern corner of the state immediately adjacent to U.S. Interstate 95, just four miles north of the Florida state line. Kingsland is approximately 35 miles north of Jacksonville, 35 miles south of Brunswick, and just 10 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The other pricipal city within Camden County is Woodbine, which serves as the County Seat.

In a word, we would have to describe the Kings Bay area as a "BOOM" market. Within about five miles from the transmitter site of WKBX (FM), the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, home port to our newest and most sophisticated Trident nuclear submarines, continues to add military and civilian support population.

According to the official 2000 U.S. Census figures,Camden County was the fastest growing county in Georgia during the past decade, increasing 122.2%! Growth is expected to continue through the turn of the century when the population, now over 46,000, is expected to reach 60,000. Thus, it is clear that the growth in population in Camden County and adjoining Nassau County, Florida, is and will continue to be a lucrative consumer market for all types of goods and services.
